The Nonaka lab is focused on understanding
- molecular mechanism of oral/head and neck cancer
- tumor microenvironment
- cancer immunology
- extracellular vesicles
- liquid biopsy
- saliva diagnostics
- salivary gland biology
We are passionate about advancing the mechanistic understanding of immune system and salivary gland organization in health and disease, including infectious disease, autoimmune disease, and cancer. This includes research areas broadly related to cell migration, antibody responses, lymphoid organ biology, mucosal immunology, intercellular communication, cell engineering, cancer immunology, and intravital microscopy. As well as wet-bench experiments, we are working on bioinformatics involving analysis of large datasets, including cancer genome, single-cell RNA-seq, and SARS-CoV-2 database.
