We are more than a School ... We are a Family.

In the LSUHS School of Graduate Studies we prioritize creating an inclusive atmosphere to support and empower our graduate students with services, resources and information. We understand the unique challenges that students may face while pursuing their academic and career goals. Our commitment to fostering a supportive environment sets us apart and ensures that everyone feels included, supported, and able to thrive.

We prioritize Wellness.

We prioritize the well-being of our graduate students by offering numerous resources, workshops, and programs that focus on physical and mental health, stress management, and overall well-being. In addition, the winter of 2023, we opened a new FITNESS ZONE for our campus. This area consists of 15,590 square feet dedicated space to the physical wellness of everyone on campus.
The 1st floor area includes two dedicated areas for free weights and a state-of-the-art lifting station as well as a large area for circuit training, a studio room with wood floor for yoga, dance, spin classes (13 spin bikes), etc., a multi-activity gym for basketball, volleyball and special events, and male and female locker rooms with showers, dressing area and daily use lockers. The 2nd floor cardio area overlooks the multi-activity area and houses 34 units of cardio workout equipment with each unit wifi networked for a personalized exercise experience while working out. It also includes three meditation / quiet rooms equipped with virtual reality guided meditation headsets. Further, a Teaching Kitchen on the ground floor provides evidence-based nutrition education and hands-on culinary instruction for on campus students, residents, faculty and staff as well as community outreach. Student wellness is integral to our mission to Teach, Heal and Discover.

Who you are Matters.

At LSU Health Shreveport, we firmly believe that a supportive atmosphere is crucial for nurturing a culturally diverse, inclusive, and productive academic community. We are dedicated to creating an environment where our graduate students can pursue their passions, achieve their academic goals, and enjoy a fulfilling life, all while feeling supported every step of the way. Join us and find your space where you belong in higher education!
